In Denver, Join Me, the Team Coach and Team Captain of the 1984 Olympic Gold-Winning Volleyball Team
Saturday October 8th at 6pm - Tattered Cover Book Store at McGregor Square
Please join me for a book event in Denver, Saturday October 8th at the Tattered Cover Book Store at McGregor Square. I will be joined by two people who figure prominently in my new book, If Gold is Our Destiny: How a Team of Mavericks Came Together for Olympic Glory:
Doug Beal, the head coach of the 1984 men’s national team and the former Executive Director of USA Volleyball.
Chris Marlowe, the captain of the 1984 team and the current television play-by-play announcer for the Denver Nuggets.
Event: Sean Murray Live at Tattered Cover McGregor Square
Date: Saturday October 8th
Time: 6:00 PM MT
Location: Tattered Cover Book Store, McGregor Square Downtown
1991 Wazee St. Ste. 100, Denver, CO 80202 (directly across from the Rockies stadium)
This is a free event.
Although many of the players on the 1984 U.S. men’s national team were from Southern California, the team has a surprising number of connections to Denver and the greater Colorado area. USA Volleyball is headquartered in Colorado Springs, and as part of their Olympic training, the players and coaches participated in a 3-week winter course designed by Colorado Outward Bound School.
I hope to see you there.
